JOHN BENITZ
John Benitz is the Founder of Libertas Land. He believes that one of the greatest needs and opportunities of our time lies in regenerating our natural infrastructure by recognizing and valuing the significant benefits and services provided by nature’s capital. Land, waters and biodiversity are the living infrastructure of thriving farms, ranches, resilient supply chains and local economies. Libertas Land was founded in response to what John describes as “the land is calling”, a necessary rethinking and redesign of prevailing agricultural and economic systems. The firm partners across the agricultural spectrum, from farms and ranches to food, fiber, and health enterprises, transforming extractive and depleting practices into regenerative, economically resilient models. Libertas Land integrates land-based insight, ecological science, disciplined operational execution, and systems thinking to deliver measurable regenerative outcomes. The work is grounded in interdisciplinary biological, operational, and financial performance.
A driven entrepreneur, John has built and led companies as CEO and partner across operating businesses and private equity platforms. His career spans the Americas, Europe, and Asia, providing a lived global perspective and the ability to translate nature’s rhythms into enterprise strategy and capital allocation. John is also the founder of Casa Libertas, a conservationist, writer, and horseman. He holds an MBA from Ivey Business School at Western University and a BA in Economics from Western University, Ontario, Canada. Through Libertas Land, he seeks to honor nature’s limits, principles practiced for generations by his pioneering ranching family. Today, he continues to pursue meaningful impact answering the call of the land.
