Rick Leonhardt serves as a Regenerative Land Advisor with Libertas Land, bringing years of hands-on experience as a third-generation cattle rancher in Plumas County, California.

Through his own ranching operation, Rick successfully transitioned to an adaptive grazing management system rooted in regenerative principles, improving operational resilience while enhancing the ecological and economic performance of the ranch. His practical experience gives him a unique understanding of how regenerative management can improve productivity, profitability, and land stewardship.

Rick is a past President of the Plumas/Sierra Cattlemen’s Association, a board member of the Plumas/Sierra Farm Bureau, and a faculty member at Feather River College, where he teaches in the Agriculture Department and serves as Coordinator of the Agriculture Business Program. He integrates regenerative management principles and practical business strategies throughout the curriculum, helping prepare the next generation of agricultural leaders.

A graduate of the Soil Health Academy, Rick has worked alongside ranchers across the region to support the successful adoption of regenerative principles, adaptive grazing systems, and management practices that strengthen enterprise performance and ecological outcomes.
