A Letter to the Land
I write to you neither as master nor as bystander, but as one shaped by a love of the outdoors, by the symphony of nature,
guided by purpose, driven by passion, and rooted in a generational legacy of those who walked before me.
My family has been your steward, pioneers, ranchers, and builders, tending soil and water, caring for landscapes that stretch wide, all the way to the
pampas of Argentina, alive with the songbirds of life. We have learned from mistakes, grown through your seasons, and listened to your rhythms.
This heritage brings me to today, a moment in time.
One breath in. One breath out. Each breath is a gift: rhythmic, simple, too often unnoticed.
Yet with each breath comes awareness: the world is changing faster than ever, pushing, pulling, extracting, demanding more of you. You are not inert.
You are living and resilient yet do not demand, but your presence calls for care, attention, and action.
In the midst of it all, I hear you.
The Land is Calling.
You are the soil that sustains life.
The water moving through every system.
The plants reaching toward the sun.
The air that gives breath.
The ecosystems that shape our shared future.
This letter joins many written before it, yet the dilemmas of our time sharpen its focus: population growth, extractive economic systems, climate realities, carbon displaced from soil to sky, biodiversity loss,
and the politics that churn with noise. Beneath every one of these forces lies the same living foundation: You.
For too long, humanity has treated you as separate, an endless resource to extract, a system to bend toward yield and profit. The evidence is visible: soils weakened, watersheds strained, carbon lost to the sky
instead of resting in your depths, landscapes struggling to heal, wildlife pushed to the margins.
And yet, somehow, you endure, quietly offering wisdom, renewal, and possibility.
Libertas Land evolved over many years, a calling that began in my boyhood books and wonder at animals, open spaces, and the wildness of nature, and has carried forward to today. It was founded on the principle
of hearing and responding to your call, with passion and a commitment to act. At its core is a call for a paradigm shift: from extraction to regeneration, from depletion to renewal, from short-term yield to enduring resilience.
Going it alone was never an option. I sought to bring together leading regenerative pioneers, a collective of outstanding changemakers, farmers, ranchers, scientists, builders, and entrepreneurs to walk the trail of renewal together. We know that, together, regeneration works, and paradigms can shift through skill, discipline, and shared commitment.
This is Our Calling.
Our Crew works to heal what is wounded and awaken the land’s innate strength.
We strive to restore soils, revive habitats, expand understanding, and remove the artificial boundaries of people and nature.
We move forward together as learners and stewards: lessons earned, mistakes acknowledged, shaped by humility and compassion,
reconnecting with the lands on which we depend. With curiosity and discipline, we bring regenerative practice to every hectare, every project.
Our boots walk quietly and horse hooves stride softly, feeling the wind,
listening to the call of the wild, moving in harmony with your symphony, helping shape the world we wish to live in.
